Just curious as to who will be doing the track maintenance this year. If the usual guys will be taking care of it, or if Mr. Brown will be doing it as he did at union?

That is a good question. I don't think there are very many people who know more about track prep than Jody Leazer. The Mooresville crew is very good at what they do. In this day and age where drag radial tire cars have over 2000 applied horsepower, different approaches are required to make particular surfaces work. Mooresville has a concrete starting line with an asphault top end and has been professionally ground. Union has an all concrete smooth surface that has not been ground. With plenty of rain the week before to curb the dust/sand, Union is an excellent drag radial track. Mooresville is an overall very good track for about any combination. Jody, Raymond and I are going to combine ideas to try to provide the best track possible that will last all night. I guess to really answer your question, I won't try to fix what is working good. More attention will be given to between round maintenance such as dragging and making sure the line is clean. At Union, I could be found on the line more than anywhere, touching up and making sure it was as clean as possible. I plan on being places that Jody can't be. Now there will be two people that are dedicated to keeping the track in good shape all night.
